Changelog

New features, improvements, and fixes — newest first.

September 2026

  1. Grilling is now Planning

    Improvement

The structured discovery session — start it by typing /planning — is the same feature, renamed. Nothing about how it works changes.

  2. Stronger one-time email codes

    Improvement

The codes we email you to sign in, reset a password, confirm a signup, or change your email are now 8 digits and expire after 10 minutes instead of an hour. Nothing else about the flow changes — type the code from the email as before.

August 2026

  1. See exactly what a file will change in your org

    Feature

Open an Apex class, trigger, page, or component in the file viewer and the new Diff tab reads the version that's live in your target org and shows a line-by-line comparison — additions, removals, and a "New in this Org" badge when the component doesn't exist there yet. No more guessing what a deploy will overwrite.

  2. OrgBolt can now read and edit Visualforce

    Feature

The AI can now list, read, and search your org's Visualforce pages and components — and deploy edits to them — the same way it already handles Apex, Flows, and Lightning components. Ask it things like "where does the quote PDF get its address?" and it can open the page markup and stage the fix.

  3. Long replies no longer get cut off

    Fix

A reply that took more than about two minutes used to fail with "Turn cancelled" — and still cost you credits. Long replies now run to completion. You can also close the tab or refresh mid-reply and come back to the finished answer; only pressing Stop ends a reply now.

  4. You are told when a shared org needs reconnecting

    Fix

When a teammate closes their OrgBolt account, the Salesforce orgs they connected are disconnected with it. Everyone else in the workspace now gets an email saying which orgs to reconnect, and the org shows as disconnected instead of looking healthy until the next time you try to use it.

  5. Turns survive an update mid-conversation

    Improvement

If we ship an update while OrgBolt is mid-reply, your message no longer fails with a connection error. The chat reconnects on its own and finishes the answer — or retries it once — without you resending. You are not charged for the interrupted attempt.

  6. Grilling sessions

    Feature

Type /grilling in the chat composer to start a structured discovery session. OrgBolt asks focused questions about your org, surfaces risks, and tracks everything in the conversation. An End grilling button closes the session when you are ready to move on. (Renamed Planning on 2026-09-28 — see above.)

  7. Type / to browse skills

    Feature

Typing "/" in the task composer now opens a picker listing every skill available to your workspace. Arrow keys, Enter, and Escape navigate it — no need to remember the exact command.

  8. Object fields load on first expand

    Improvement

Expanding an object on the Objects tab now fetches its fields directly from Salesforce when they are not cached yet. You see the field list right away instead of a placeholder that waits for a background sync.

  9. One-click task status changes

    Improvement

Mark a task done, cancel it, or restore it with a single click — no more dragging cards between sections. The dashboard now filters tasks with status tabs, keeps drag for reordering, and tucks search behind a compact icon. Attachment thumbnails open full-size in a new tab.

  10. Smoother signup and checkout

    Fix

Confirming your email now signs you in directly instead of bouncing you to the login form. After checkout, the billing page shows your real activation status rather than assuming it.

  11. Permission Inspector

    Feature

Ask why a user can or can't see an object, field, or record, and OrgBolt traces every permission layer live — profile, permission sets, sharing, page layout — then offers the smallest one-click fix.

  12. Record data queries, gated by consent

    Feature

The AI can now answer questions from your actual records — counts, sums, and row sets rendered as sortable tables. Off by default: each org needs an explicit grant, and every read is audited.

  13. AI org documentation

    Feature

Generate living documentation for a connected org — architecture overviews with diagrams — built from the metadata OrgBolt already keeps in sync.

  14. Interactive dependency graph

    Feature

Explore what references what across your org in an interactive 3D graph, now including dependencies parsed from Apex source and Lightning components.

July 2026

  1. Expired connections announce themselves

    Improvement

Dashboard org cards now show metadata freshness and flag an expired Salesforce connection with a one-click reconnect, instead of failing quietly on your next task.

  2. Metered credits

    Improvement

Turns now debit credits by what they actually cost instead of a flat rate, so small asks cost less. The composer shows an estimate before you send, and task cards show real usage.

  3. Smarter level upgraded to Claude Opus 4.8

    Improvement

The Smarter AI level moved to Anthropic's newest Opus model for harder analysis and implementation work.

  4. Flow deploys made dependable

    Fix

OrgBolt now normalizes Flow XML ordering and guarantees layout coordinates before deploying, ending a class of opaque Flow deployment failures.

  5. One plan, simple add-ons

    Improvement

Pricing collapsed to a single plan with everything included. Extra orgs, seats, and custom skills are add-ons you can buy — and cancel — in-app.

June 2026

  1. Per-task AI level

    Feature

Choose Standard or Smarter for each task individually. The workspace setting is now just the default for new tasks.

  2. Cleaner org inventory

    Improvement

The Objects tab gained a Custom-only toggle and sortable columns, and custom metadata types now have their own tab.

  3. Metadata freshness at a glance

    Improvement

A gauge in the chat header shows how fresh the org's synced metadata is — click it to refresh on the spot.

May 2026

  1. The AI reads your whole org

    Improvement

Every synced component is summarized and indexed for semantic search, so the AI automatically pulls in the metadata relevant to your ask — even in very large orgs.

  2. Permission set picker

    Feature

When a change needs field access, choose which permission sets carry it — reuse existing sets or create a new one — right from chat, with batch assignment.

  3. Support access, on your terms

    Feature

OrgBolt staff can only view your workspace after you grant time-boxed access, and you can review the full history of every support session.

  4. More ways to sign in

    Feature

Sign in with a 6-digit email code, reset a forgotten password, and change your account email in-app.

  5. Installed packages panel

    Improvement

The org detail page lists installed packages with their license counts and usage.

  6. Choose your AI level

    Feature

A Smarter toggle on every composer, with a credit chip that shows what each level costs before you send.

  7. Turns you can steer

    Improvement

Every turn shows live progress, can be cancelled and retried mid-flight, and recovers visibly when the AI stalls instead of hanging.

  8. Bring your own API key

    Feature

Route the AI through your own Anthropic API key. The billing page splits BYOK usage out so you always know what ran on whose key.

  9. Org metadata sync and org pages

    Feature

OrgBolt keeps a synced inventory of each connected org — objects, flows, permission sets, licenses, API limits — browsable on a new org detail page and used as context by the AI.

  10. Deploy pipeline, grown up

    Feature

Validation-first deploys with auto-derived Apex test levels, per-test results, Quick Deploy for already-validated changes, and live progress throughout.

  11. Long deploys no longer time out

    Fix

Deploys that outlive the request window now keep polling in the background and land their result in chat when Salesforce finishes.

  12. In-app feedback

    Feature

File a bug or ask a question from inside the app. You get an email when we reply or ship the fix.

April 2026

  1. Self-serve billing and trials

    Feature

Subscriptions launched: free trial, in-app checkout, credit top-ups, plan changes, and a billing page that shows exactly where credits went.

  2. Deploy failures review themselves

    Improvement

When a deploy fails, the AI reads the error and proposes the fix automatically. Successful deploys deep-link straight into Salesforce Setup.

  3. Guided onboarding

    Feature

New accounts start with a demo task matched to your experience level, and connecting your first org is a guided step instead of a scavenger hunt.

  4. Task board

    Feature

The dashboard became a drag-and-drop board: move tasks between sections, with per-org deploy status on every card.

  5. Help center

    Feature

In-app help and public docs launched, covering everything from getting started to deploys and pricing.

  6. Your data, exportable and deletable

    Feature

Full account deletion and a one-click export of everything OrgBolt holds about you — GDPR and CCPA compliant from day one.

  7. Multi-workspace

    Feature

Belong to multiple workspaces, switch between them instantly, and invite teammates by email.

  8. Salesforce credentials in an encrypted vault

    Improvement

Salesforce refresh tokens moved into an encrypted vault. OrgBolt never stores plaintext credentials and mints access tokens fresh for each request.

  9. Paste screenshots into chat

    Feature

Upload or paste images and the AI reads them — error screenshots, page layouts, spreadsheet snippets.
